HowTheLightGetsIn, the world’s largest philosophy and music festival, offers a sublime and cerebral start to the summer festival season. Set over ten days in the charming book-town of Hay on Wye, the event focuses on new ideas and new thinking.

Last year’s HowTheLightGetsIn welcomed around 20,000 guests to the festival site. Our programme featured 130 philosophical talks and debates alongside 150 live performances from acoustic songstresses to breathtaking beatboxers. The event has been doubling in size year on year since its inception in 2009.
