Emma Slade

Emma Slade became the first Western woman to be ordained a Buddhist nun in 2014. After a prestigious education and a high-flying career as a financial analyst at HSBC, a traumatic experience of being held hostage and robbed led Emma to relinquish her corporate life and convert to Buddhism. She is an author and founding CEO of the charity Opening Your Heart to Bhutan.
