Theodore M. Porter

Professor Theodore M. Porter is a historian of science at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is known for his ground-breaking work on the sociology of quantification and the rise of statistical thinking. His seminal 1995 work, Trust in Numbers: The Pursuit of Objectivity in Science and Public Life, has just been reissued by Harvard University Press.
