Catherine Rowett is Professor Emerita of Philosophy at the University of East Anglia, working on Presocratic philosophy, Plato, and Aristotle. Alongside her academic work, she serves as a Green Party County Councillor for the West Depwade division in South Norfolk and has been a prospective parliamentary candidate for South Norfolk. A former Green Party MEP for the East of England, she remains active in both scholarship and Green politics. She is the author of several books, Eros Unveiled (Oxford University Press 1994), Rethinking Early Greek Philosophy (Cornell University Press, 1987), Dumb Beasts and Dead Philosophers: Humanity and the Humane in Ancient Philosophy and Literature (Oxford University Press, 2007), and Knowledge and Truth in Plato (Oxford University Press, 2018).
