Iain McGilchrist

Iain McGilchrist is a distinguished British neuroscientist, psychiatrist and philosopher. A former Fellow of All Souls College, Oxford, Iain McGilchrist also worked as a consulting psychiatrist, and is known for his influential work on the relationship between the structure of our brains, human cultures and our understanding of the world. 

His books include The Master and His Emissary and The Matter with Things which explore the important differences between the two hemispheres that make up our brains. Our current culture is dominated by a left-hemisphere materialist model which produces a mechanistic and lifeless world. McGilchrist shows us how to recognise left hemisphere thinking, so we can ensure that our right hemisphere is leading the way.
