John Ioannidis

He co‑directs the Meta‑Research Innovation Center at Stanford, and is recognised as one of the world’s most‑cited scientists. His research focuses on evidence-based medicine, clinical research and the study of scientific research itself.
His landmark 2005 paper Why Most Published Research Findings Are False opened a major debate on reproducibility, bias and reliability in science. He has led efforts to improve research methods, enhance transparency, reduce waste in clinical and epidemiological research, and to promote better reporting guidelines
