Lior Shamir is Professor of Computer Science at Kansas State University. His research applies machine learning, soft computing, and computational statistics to cross-disciplinary projects, including with the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope, the Astrophysics Source Code Library, and the Midwest Big Data Hub. He is the author of more than 150 papers, employing data-driven research across topics ranging from astrophysics to marine biology.
