Sam Kiley

Sam Kiley is a multi-award-winning journalist, documentary maker and broadcaster who has covered conflict for more than 30 years – including in Somalia, Rwanda, Iraq, Afghanistan, Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories and Eastern Ukraine in the wake of Russia's invasion. Known for provocative, challenging, and transparent reporting, Kiley has experienced global conflict first-hand – even narrowly escaping execution while covering the 2003 invasion of Iraq. 

Kiley has made more than 30 documentaries for news organizations across the UK and US, has previously worked for CNN, Sky News, and The Times, and is the current World Affairs Editor of The Independent. He is also the author of Desperate Glory, an uncensored account of his experiences as the only journalist to ever cover a full operational tour in Afghanistan.
