Syed Ishtiaque Ahmed is Associate Professor of Computer Science at the University of Toronto and Associate Director of the Knowledge Media Design Institute (KMDI). His research focuses on the social dimensions of AI: safety, governance, policy, ethical and responsible AI design, and human-AI interaction. Alongside his academic work, he is the National AI Consultant for Bangladesh at the United Nations Development Program.
