Pioneering cultural theorist

Timotheus Vermeulen is Professor of Media, Culture and Society at the University of Oslo, and an essayist and critic. He is one of the leading theorists and contemporary historians of metamodernism, and is the co-author of the landmark essay 'Notes on Metamodernism' (2010). His latest book is Plastic Time: Gesture on Screen (SUNY, 2026).
