Winsome Pinnock is a distinguished British playwright and dramaturge, celebrated for her contributions to contemporary theatre. Pinnock's groundbreaking work has appeared on stages across the UK and internationally since 1985. She was the first black British female writer to have a play produced by the Royal National Theatre.

Her plays include Leave Taking, Talking in Tongues, and Rockets and Blue Lights, the last of which won the prestigious Alfred Fagon Award. In 2022, her outstanding contributions to drama were further recognised with the Windham-Campbell Prize.
