Claudia Maraston is an expert in theoretical astrophysics, in particular the calculation of theoretical spectra for stellar populations. She is a Professor of Astrophysics at the University of Portsmouth. She has been awarded the prestigious Eddington Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society for her 'work of outstanding merit in theoretical astrophysics'. Previous recipients include Stephen Hawking and Roger Penrose. Claudia is a world-leader in modelling of the spectro-photometric and mass properties of galaxies.
