Paul Bloom

Paul Bloom is the Brooks and Suzanne Ragen Professor of Psychology and Cognitive Science at Yale University. Paul's research explores how humans learn to understand the world - how we learn the meanings of words, grow to understand what we want and how to get it, and develop our sense of right and wrong. His books include How Pleasure Works: The New Science of Why We Like What We Like, Just Babies: The Origins of Good and Evil and his newest book, Against Empathy: The Case for Rational Compassion, published in 2016.
