Steffen Gielen

Steffen Gielen is Senior Research Fellow at the University of Sheffield.

His research focuses on how quantum physics might change our understanding of the beginning of the Universe, specifically, how the Big Bang of classical cosmology could be replaced by a “Big Bounce” in quantum theories of gravity.

He has been selected as one of Classical and Quantum Gravity’s “Outstanding Reviewers” of 2018. Additionally, his work on 'perfect bounce' has been covered in the Daily Mail Online, Nature World News, Wired.co.uk and IFL Science.
