What Men Really Want

Nina Power

Who are 'men'? What do they want? How did we get to this point of fear and mistrust? And where can we go next?

About the Course

The past decade has seen the accusation of 'toxic masculinity' become so commonplace that even brands aimed at men, like Gillette, are using it to sell their products. And the #MeToo movement cemented fears that bad men are everywhere. So who are 'men'? What do they want? How did we get to this point of fear and mistrust? And where can we go next?

Join social theorist and renowned philosopher Nina Power as she sheds light on some of the most important issues affecting men today. Power will chart a riveting course through the history of masculinity, the crises that affect men today and what we should do about them.

By the end of the course, you will have learnt:

  • What toxic masculinity really means
  • How masculinity can be moral
  • The differences between men and woman
  • What the dawn of the 'New Man' signifies
  • The importance of self-transformation
  • How we move beyond ladette culture

IAI Academy courses are designed to be challenging but accessible to the interested student. No specialist knowledge is required.
