Jaron Lanier is a computer scientist, visual artist, composer, futurist, and writer. His 2014 book Who Owns the Future? received critical acclaim, winning Harvard’s Goldsmith Book Prize and the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade. He has performed and recorded with a wide range of musicians, including Philip Glass, Yoko Ono, and Ornette Coleman, and his paintings and drawings have been displayed in museums and galleries across the globe. TIME magazine has named him one of the world’s 100 most influential people.
