Richard Wolff
Richard D. Wolff is "America's most prominent Marxist economist," according to The New York Times. He argues that capitalism's recurring crises are not due to policy failures or bad luck, but rather structural features of the system itself. True democracy, he suggests, requires going beyond capitalism, and transforming the workplace to make it democratic.
He is a professor emeritus of economics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a visiting professor in the graduate program in international affairs at The New School, New York. Among his many books is Democracy at Work: A Cure for Capitalism.
